does this bother anyone?

We're here in St. Paul trying to take in all the action of the Republican National Convention. We went to the river park, picked up 3 free bike rentals, headed for the concert on Harriet Island, and ended up getting arrested.

Those weren't cops, those were frigging transformers. Our freedom is no longer an inherent right. To the extent that we continue to enjoy freedom at all it is solely at the pleasure and discretion of the authorities. They giveth and whenever it suits them they will taketh away. If the Dems win will they have the inclination and the will to reverse this? I'm not optimistic.

We the People have LOST our right to peacefully assemble in protest - as evidenced by the treatment of Amy Goodman, her producers and other members of the PRESS CORPS yesterday in Minneapolis. Posse Comitatus no longer exists when an AK-47 is held against your head with a threat to fire if your cooperation is not immediately forthcoming.
In my opinion, if we as a Nation do not rise up and take our rights back, by whatever means necessary, then we will have lost them forever. What's even worse, is that we handed them over without a whimper.
Shame on us.

That's Blackwater transformers, correct? Didn't someone post last week that they had been hired by the RNC?

Idiots. Should have had a bike crash, as a direct result of a kidnapping attempt by non-sworn officers, resulting in injuries serious enough for ambulance transport to the hospital.
The city can afford the several million bucks to settle.
But what the city might NOT be able to afford is if everyone these goons tried to kidnap sustained serious injuries. The city would have to stop- it couldn't handle the costs just from the EMT/fire response alone. News would have a field day with 20,000 to 30,000 casualties.

Just like NYC - the city will have to settle lawsuits - and will likely lose.
The people arrested should sustain injuries requiring hospitalization - the settlements are much larger.

Wow, riding a bike near the convention is now a crime. Just like wearing shoes into an airport, or supporting the Constitution makes you an anarchist. This is not America.

Just called the Ramsey County Sherrif's department.
Asked where "the buck stopped" with regard to the way the protests in Minneapolis are being handled. Was told the man in charge of police security for the RNC Convention was:
---
Assistant Police Chief Matt Bostrom
Direct Line: 651-266-5552
email:
matt.bostrom@ci.stpaul.mn.us---
He's the guy who should get the heat from us for the deplorable things being done to violate Constitutional rights of protesters and media covering the RNC Convention this week.
