I understand it when the Right calls themselves 'great Americans' but for a full blown Democrat to call Karl Rove a 'Great American' completely loses me. I would understand it if Biden said "Rove thinks he's a great American.... and his party thinks he's a great American" but for Joe Biden to directly call Karl Rove a "Great American" and if Karl Rove is, indeed, a Great American, then I'm in the wrong country.

Surely not as a "good American" as he engineered the outing of a CIA undercover agent, Valerie Plame and her entire brass plate operation by describing Mrs. Wilson as "fair game" to Chris Matthews and probably revealing the contents of classified documents (we will never know).

Actually it doesn't change it for me in the context of the exchange. In the context of Rove's remark, Biden then could have replied 'Doofus American' or ' he's a Great Doofus himself". Biden could have responded back to the question that wasn't going to honor Rove's remark with any answer and simply refuse to make a comment about it. Biden could have answered back that Rove's ignorant remark best described the immaturity that makes up the Republican Party. Yet Biden made it the record on camera that he thinks Rove is a Great American. A clip and sound bite that the Repigs can use anytime they wish if, and I say again.... IF Karl Rove is brought to any justice. A Karl Rove who has been defiant to Congress and complicit to treason has now been termed to be a Great American by a 6 term Democrat Senator and VP Biden. Think how that might look to a nation when the GOP and their media punks runs Biden's sound bite over and over while Congress trys to bring justice against Rove.

Why couldn't Biden call a skunk a skunk rather than putting the 'Great American' term out there in public without the *winky winks*? Why didn't Biden just refuse to comment if he couldn't bring himself to call Rove a skunk?
