As Gustav moved into the Guld Coast a few days ago, many wondered if it would postpond the RNC circus show in MN. I knew if the Repigs got their hurricane ducks in a row this time around, they would make hay. Since Gustav wasn't as bad as it was prior to when it hit the Gulf Coast.... and the levees held..... and the evacuation was a complete success...... I think this confirms that the Repigs will celebrate this moment of 'getting the job done' while protecting many people of those Gulf states, that puts a shiny medal on their chest during the convention. So much, that I think the entire convention will become the Gustav Convention for the Repigs. Wait and see how many speakers will mention Gustav and the Gulf States. Gustav may actually give the Repig ticket a sizable bounce. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Given that every humanitarian effort and Gustav reference made by the Republis ensures that Katrina remains in the mental and meedja mix by association, reminding U.S. that it was the current deministration that let NOLA drown, and given that the successful evacuation is largely to due to state and local officials, and given that there's still Hanna, with Ivan or Ike or whatever they're calling the next tropical storm, on her hurricanic heels, and given that the Interwebs are supplanting the MSMinistry of Disinformation almost by the day, and given that the DNCC got its unified and multi-purpose-sound-byte packed message out first and stuck, and given how few GOP high-rollers are in the Twin Cities, the RNCC seems a lose-lose anyway it's spliced and spun.
