This kid doesn't look that much different than my own teenage nephew..and he doesn't even "sound" that different either.

My nephew likes to "talk tough"...does the "hip hop" thing...which sounds odd combined with his thick Kentucky accent (which he takes great PRIDE in).

He goes to a Christian Academy by choice (he and I have talked about my issues with it and my Dad - lives with his grandparents- makes sure he gets a science based education even if he has to do it himself). Though, he spends most of his time arguing with his teachers. He has his reasons for going.

He's getting the abstinence only education and when he's with me (whether grandma knows/or approves I give him the real scoop).

Anyway...he also is an AVID Obama supporter. Can't stand Bush or Republicans. And I just hate to see people trashing a kid based on his "looks" or what "tough talk" he might have posted on his "My Space" page.

He didn't ask to get thrust into this limelight.

We don't know him.

He may not be who you are all painting him to be and you are dragging him through the slime and the mud.

I have serious issues with the fact she would fly on a 8 hour trip when she was in labor. I have issues she would force her daughter to get married (I've seen how that works out...I have my neo-con side of the family with a shotgun wedding story!).

In my family when this happened...they were two dumb scared kids who never learned about safe sex and ended up in trouble and later in a disastrous marriage with an even worse divorce and now with a bright young child torn between them! Well, this is actually another issue, but Palin is said to have attended several different churches including Wasilla Assembly of God (AG, classical Pentecostal), The Church on the Rock, Wasilla (COTR is one of those non-denominational denominations), Juneau Christian Center (Christian Centers are another non-denominational denomination, neo-Pentecostal/Charismatic in nature), and Wasilla Bible Church (Bible Churches are closer to Baptist in theology than Pentecostal or Charismatic). She was baptized Roman Catholic.

They are all different and have internecine differences with each other. She's never actually said where her theological loyalties lie, something that is somewhat troubling for certain far right Christians.

The Kos article, btw, is about Juneau Christian Center's links to Joel's Army, not Wasilla Assembly of God.

There's a lot we do not know about that situation, and probably will never know unless Bristol opts to make it public. If she didn't I would not blame her one bit.
