I think some school kids around the USA are partaking in this adoption thing. I've also received an email from an 8 yr old nephew a while back urging me to write my senators to support putting polarbears on the endangered list. Personally I think it's great that the kids are getting involved in important issues dealing with earth's future.
But I'll bet the hate mongers on the right make comments like "this proves we told you schools are turning the kids into LIBERALS!!"
