With 5 kids and a pregnant daughter...does anyone know Palin's stance on a women's right to birth control? I am assuming I already know this answer but has she stated anything publicly?

To be honest - does it really matter?

She's a fruitcake and no one is going to pay any attention to what she wants. Even as a Pressthedent, I, for one, am going to tell her to fuck off and do what I need to do.

I think it matters as another nail in the coffin.

My guess is that she doesn't have anything against birth control as long as you don't teach or promote it, and can't buy it ... although if we could figure out how to allow oil companies to make a profit from it that might change.

As close as she's come is:

"I'll control my gun, you control yours..."

Though it wasn't in reference to birth control.

Seriously though she forced her kids to sign abstinence contracts so that I believe is her stance on the subject. It works quite well. rolleyes.gif

I've read quite a bit about her over the last several days. I don't think anyone knows what she believes for us, not even her. She such a neophyte. But, her nut job "former" pastor says that she's the "real deal". and she stated in a quesionnaire to a conservative group while running for governor that she opposed abortion in all instances, even where a woman is raped, except where a woman's life is threatened (if i remember correctly). further, she stated that she was in favor of abstinence only education. I don't see how someone could be for both abstinence only education and government funded use of contraceptives. do you? And regardless of what she believes, she's going to placate her base.

as your other poster, we should all be plenty worried. the most vulnerable among us don't have the ability to tell the gov't to f*** off. they very much need gov't supported contraceptive programs.

moreover, if she ever has anything to do with the appointment of supreme court justices, we can kiss roe goodbye. a lot of progressives think it can't happen, but it can. the american public is very wishy washy as we all know. look at how the polls swing each week. also, keep in mind that the majority of amercans to the best of my knowledge did not support a woman's right to choose at the time the court ruled on roe. further still, look at how we've been willing to accept stolen elections, spying, torture, etc. over the past few years.

Traditionally - they say life begins at conception - but that's a misnomer.

Conception is implantation.

They mean "life begins at fertilization."

Oral Contraception is therefore abortion, and should be banned.

Only barrier methods work pre-fertilization.

Cheers.
