Yes, Obama worked with Coburn and he is also close to Andrew Rice who is trying to beat James (idiot) Inhofe.

Anyway, hi to all of America from a few sane homeys in OK.

Did anyone see the young Mayor from Muskogee, Tyler Hammons, interviewed on CNN or MSNBC? He was in dreamland and in starry-eyed bliss awaiting a meet-up with AMERICA'S MAYOR - Rudolph Giuliani!!! ohmy.gif

I wanted to reach into the screen and shake him to consciousness. You have NO idea kid. wink.gif

Born on the KS/OK border. That state song and the deathless musical it derives from -- engraved on my brain pan.

That's my cue.
AUNT ELLER:
They couldn't pick a better time to start in life

ANDREW:
It ain't too early and it ain't too late

LAUREY:
Startin' as a farmer with a brand new wife

CURLY:
Soon'll be livin' in a brand new state

COMPANY (various):
Brand new state!
Brand new state, gonna treat you great!
Gonna give you barley, carrots and pertaters,
Pasture fer the cattle,
Spinach and termayters!
Flowers on the prarie where the June bugs zoom,
Plen'y of air and plen'y of room,
Plen'y of room to swing a rope!
Plen'y of heart and plen'y of hope.

CURLY:
Oklahoma,
Where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain
And the wavin' wheat can sure smell sweet
When the wind comes right behind the rain.
Oklahoma,
Ev'ry night my honey lamb and I
Sit alone and talk and watch a hawk
Makin' lazy circles in the sky.

We know we belong to the land
And the land we belong to is grand!
And when we say
Yeeow! Ayipioeeay!
We're only sayin'
You're doin' fine, Oklahoma!
Oklahoma, O.K.

Okla-homa-Okla-homa-Okla-homa

Anyway, this is the legislation Coburn and Obama passed:

And that's one more decent bill than Inhofe has passed -- and, really, does Inhofe pass anything, apart, of course, from unnatural gas? Wonder how long it will take Candidate Creationista to lie about Obama's contribution to the bill...

Here's a shout out from the great (as in geographically large) city of Tulsa.

For at least the next few months.

Greetings:

OKC is geographically larger.

Leaving the great Tulsa in a few months . . . ?

Is it shameful and embarassing to live here? Is that why so many of us leave? Yes, I know there are a lot of former Okies on this board.

Per capita, there are more gay people here than one would think.

How many Wasillas would fit into it?

There are more gay people everywhere than many think. Or will admit to themselves.

Tulsa joke:

2 guys standing at the bus stop

Guy 1: I'm gay.

Guy 2: O, RU?

Ha ha. Hadn't heard that one.

Watched one of Jon Stewart's reporters interview a fun-loving cowboy type at the Repub. Convention. The fun-loving Repub. let the reporter kiss him on the cheek (but not on the lips). Reporter kept egging him on about the kiss as the guy seemed to get redder and redder in the face. The fella never ever got it, but he clearly exhibited "tendencies"? It was fun to watch and the Repub. never got mad about the kiss on the cheek.

Verdict: We're all at the very least, bi-sezual. But not everyone realizes that YET. This is why we need more science classes stressed in our schools, along with a heavy dose of memorizing the Constitution, starting in the 4th grade.

It's Sunday, not enough java in the bloodstream and I don't want to figure that out. I would say a lot of Wasillas would fit into OKC. The square mileage of OKC, they say is huge (622 square miles - ok I looked it up [very tired/lazy today]). Bad for driving about with $4/gal gas prices.

That joke works (or heard it a lot from my very educated professors) mainly down in Barnsdall/Durant way - southeastern corner of OK. There, I worked/tutored for a govt. program called TRIO to get first generation kids into college.
