One of my favorite bassists, Danny Thompson of Pentangle fame. Here with Richard Thompson playing "Mingus Eyes":

They remind me of Dan Hicks and His Hot Licks. Here's the original lineup doing Dan's "I Scare Myself."

Funny you should say that, I was just listening to Mystic Moods last night. They use sound effects like thunderstorms and train whistles to set the mood for their music.

I love to sit and listen to the turtledoves out on my patio but unfortunately they are interrupted by load motorcycles and cars from time to time.

I am listening to Phrans cd now, it's great, an old time bluegrassy cd, with an amazing fiddle player, not that the other members aren't but I love good fiddle players and this is one. PM Phran to get a copy, you'll love it.

Also listening to David and David 'Boomtown' , David Baerwald writes on Firedoglake sometimes, these tunes will never get old...

"I said welcome, welcome to the boomtown, pick a habit we got plenty to go around..."

You're super kind, Tap...thanks heaps...Damian was one of those prodigy-type fiddle players as a child...he's awesome in every genre...

My website is on my personal info page, and the songs are downloadable off the site...

Phran--I didn't know you were here, I was doing my shameless promotion bit, but you are welcome. Good music deserves good reviews, period. We had it playing last night on repeat, while we were playing darts. Well done. I'd send you my recording of Amarillo By Mornin, but it was recorded by a 3rd rate dude. I'm all out of my first CD, dammit.

Iron maiden - Virus

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31lahgS-mFU

"There's an evil virus that's threatening mankind
Not state of the art, a serious state of the mind
The muggers, the back stabbers, the two face elite
A menace to society, a social disease.

Rape of the mind is a social disorder
The cynics, the apathy oneupmanship order

Watching beginnings of social decay
Gloating or seering at life's disarray
Eating away at your own self esteem
Pouncing on every word that you might be saying

Rape of the mind is a social disorder
The cynics, the apathy oneupmanship order

Superficially smiling a shake of the hand
As soon as the back is turned treachery is planned

Rape of the mind is a social disorder
The cynics, the apathy oneupmanship order

Watching beginnings of social decay
Gloating or seering...at life's disarray

When every good thing's laid to waste
By all the jealousy and hate
By all the acid wit and rapier lies

And every time you think you're safe
And when you go to turn away
You know they're sharpening all their papers knives

All in your mind
All in your head
Try to relate it

All in your mind
All in your head
Try to escape it

Without a conscience they destroy
And that's a thing that they enjoy
They're a sickness that's in all our minds

They want to sink the ship and leave
The way they laugh at you and me
You know it happens all the time

All in your mind
All in your head
Try to relate it

All in your mind
All in your head
Try to escape it

The rats in the cellar you know who you are..
Or do you?"
