People,

Below is a message I wrote and sent out to my email circle today. I hope you'll read through it, dig in deep, and make yet another contribution to the Obama campaign, to help me reach my independent fundraising goal of $1000 by 11/1/2008!

You too can become an independent fundraiser for Barack Obama (details below). If you do decide to sign up, feel free to copy all or part of my fundraising message, to assist your own efforts.

After you make your contribution, please also leave a post on this thread, so it will stay near the top, and bring even more donations into the Obama campaign courtesy of RRMB members.

Thanks for all you do!

Whatever one may think of Sarah Palin as John McCain's choice for Vice President, one thing's for sure: she has certainly brought renewed energy to the McCain campaign. Donations to McCain have dramatically increased since her selection, and it's clear that Bush's would-be successor will now have many more volunteers and activists than anticipated assisting him in the work of his campaign.

For many reasons – primarily the preservation of democracy in America by preventing an almost vertical tilt to the right on the Supreme Court – I'm supporting Barack Obama for president, and am asking you today to make a contribution to his campaign. As many other active Obama supporters have done, I've set up my own web site to solicit and collect donations from friends, family, co-workers, and others to help Barack Obama and Joe Biden win in November and put America back on track.

I have my own fundraising goal: $1000 or more in donations to the Obama campaign before 11/1/2008. Would you help me to reach my goal? Click here!

Please make a donation now to help America release the disastrous neoconservative Bush/Cheney stranglehold on America that's done so much harm to our country, to our national reputation, and to our own lives these past eight long years.

To make your contribution to the Obama campaign, just click one of the links above. You'll see a "thermometer chart" showing the progress I've made toward my $1000 goal with a red "DONATE" button underneath to add your own contribution to Obama's campaign. No amount is too small (just $5, $10, or $20 will go a long, long way). No amount is too large, either (up to the $2300 limit imposed by law, of course)! The average contribution nationally is around $90 ... but again, contributions that are much smaller or much larger than this amount are dearly appreciated and sorely needed.

You can even click here to set up your own web site to invite people you know to participate in the movement to get our country back on track by making donations to help Barack Obama win in November!

With renewed interest in McCain's campaign, Obama needs a second huge wave of enthusiastic volunteers working hard in his organization. Can you make calls or ring door bells to get out the vote? Register voters in key states? There's a lot of work to do in the next 60 days – and we need to do it – if we expect to succeed in avoiding four more years like the last awful eight we've seen under George Bush and Dick Cheney.

Click here to sign up to volunteer, here for info on state and local Obama campaign groups, or just call 866-675-2008 to find out what you can do to help.

With the stakes so very high in this particular election, I believe we each need to get off the sidelines, step up, and reach deep down inside and way far outside to give all we can at this critical time. If each of us does what she or he can to help Barack Obama win in November, I believe we can indeed create a much better America for all her citizens.

Thanks so much for your commitment to forging a new, positive direction for ourselves, our families, our country, and our world.

Barack on!!
