It is no longer McCain vs. Obama... It is now Palin vs. Obama

And now that the repub convention is over, if the Dems don't react, IMMEDIATELY, with all guns blazing against Palin, including the 527s and moveon.org, etc...then kiss the election goodbye.

THEY CAN NOT WASTE A MOMENT... ACTION NOW, OR KISS IT GOODBYE

And hold nothing back....the target is there. The ammunition is there. PULL THE FRIGGIN TRIGGERS, or kiss it goodbye.

The republican ticket has a weakness, it is Sarah Palin. Attack the weakness. That's how to win. If they dont, from this moment on, they lose the advantage and "kiss it goodbye."

Based on McCain's uninspiring, de-energized speech tonight, I'd say McCain is too tired to campaign for 2 more months. Still, the election is mostly about the presidential candidates. If McCain allows Palin to take the lead, he will then marginalize himself. VP candidates generally fade fast because the race is not about them.

I don't think Obama should engage Palin. If he does, it lowers his stature, engaging with a VP candidate named 5 days ago. It's ok for Biden to engage, VP to VP - he'll do fine. And I believe that the MSM and blogosphere will expose her for what she is. It'll take a while to realize that electing McCain/Palin is not electing Palin.

I think Obama should continue to articulate a vision for the future, as it could be, and let the Republicans spin in the wind, talking about nothing, to no one.

Unless ... it turns out the v.p. candidate has all kinds of scary skeletons in the closet, like an affair with her husband's business partner (see another thread in this forum), two ethics investigations, lots of vindictive political enemies in corrupt Alaska, etc., etc.

I agree. Leave it to Biden, and various surrogates. The various controversies surrounding her may lend themselves to her undoing. Frankly, a few interviews with her 'off the leash' of her handlers will be interesting. The shine will be off of this new toy in a week or two, tops. IMO.

I am not concerned about caribou barbie. She comes off as snippy and sarcastic, and the laundry list of fundie attributes won't endear her to anyone other than the base. They will lap her up. They don't have the numbers to deliver this election for McCain. Relax. A little. And then we show up at the polls in Overwhelming, Irrefutable Numbers.

I am not suggesting that Obama engage her, but the campaign itself, with ads and then Biden can attack her, but the best would be from the 527s, like moveon.org.

Allowing her to continue to deceive the public would be a grave mistake. The time is now to take her down and embarrass the repub party for choosing her. If we can do that, the election will be history.
