Full Version: This country is Secure ... We have the systems in place

There was a lady at a restaurant/bar Applebee's as a matter of fact in Knoxville, TN - I'm on business. Grabbing some ToGo and having a cocktail.

We chatted for about 20 minutes, I said I wanted to get back to the hotel and watch McAncient.

We talked about Palin, and what a corrupt joke she was, she admitted she knew really nothing about her. So I told her some things and she was like wow ... I'm Republican but I think I'll vote Democrat.

So after a few minutes talking to her and her husband I thought they were co-workers out for drinks, (a former Marine - they were actually both), I told her you know what this country will be safe no matter what. We have the structures in place right now, we have the systems in place to defend this country from another attack and we'll be safe. So McAncient can run on his superior defense over and over, his war record, he can run on fear, he can run on everything under the sun, but on real safety. I think no matter who we put in --- We're covered.

I told her, what about the economy, what about the 440,000 jobs lost nothing but a empty promise. She said we know what's happened over the last 8 years. Absolutely.

So fear not, vote the best choice ... That would be Obama & Biden.

Don't believe his McAncient's & Palinothing hype ... he's old and their both full of shit.

Comments from an Applebee's.

Cheers Here's to Obama & Biden.

So what do you think, will something really happen under either candidates?

The resources are being allocated and they won't change. So who gives a fuck about McAncient and his play to keep America Safe®.

Obama will do it right too.

McAncients lines of protecting the country means shit to me.
USA1
Habeus Corpus ... Yeah that will change. Regarding torture, yeah that will chnage, with regards to Black Prisions, Yeah that will change.

But the normal checks and FISA laws will be honored under Obama. Under McAncient ... will he eliminate any signing statements???

Regarding National security, we have the right people. C'Mon People.

McAncient Doubtful !!!

You are assuming competence on the part of those who set up the systems. The chemical companies lobbied against safety regulations for chemical companies. The liquid natural gas companies lobbied against greater regulation of LNG sites. The nuclear industry lobbied against greater regulation of the nuclear industry. The oil guys lobbied against....

You get the idea.

So really, unless you're planning to smuggle nuclear materials through a major port or into a major city, you can do whatever you want.

And with enough lead sheilding you can bring in your briefcase nuke too.

So don't tell me that the Homeland Security version of FEMA has good protections in place. Nobody important lobbied for it.

The real question is will McAncient be any better than Obama?

Will Obama make those necessary changes ... I think if there are flaws he'll make them right, McAncient is for the status quo.

He won't restore Habeus Corpus, for one ... Palin said it pretty clearly last night ... we'll keep a terrorist infinitum. Even if you get a 5.5 Yr sentance, Like Bin Laden's driver, you'll be held till you die.

I guess my point is that I and my family will feel NO LESS SAFER WITH OBAMA AS WITH MCANCIENT ... IN FACT I WILL FEEL MUCH MORE SAFER WITH OBAMA. I WON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT A HOT HEADDED MCANCIENT PULLING SOME SHIT. I WILL ALSO FEEL MORE HUMAN W/RESPECT TO HUMAN RIGHTS !!!

PEACE BABY !!

That's like asking if quicksand is better than solid ground

It depends where you stand...

I'm standing on the ground that is for Real Change. Solid Ground that can shift.

Not FAUX Change, a copy cat of our platform. A Bunch of Wanna Be's. Quicksand that engulfs and swallows.

Look, as much as we Americans worship money, we can't even protect our money. We can't keep our computers virus free. We can't protect our water supplies, food supplies from intentional large scale contamination even from American wackos. If an enemy is motivated enough to circumvent our security systems at the perimeter, he'll get through. And there is no greater motivation for that than HATE.

The issue is that a belligerent POTUS is worse than no POTUS at all. A belligerent POTUS starts the hate cycle going, as GWB did and McCain will do. That is the error that most "National Security" voters make.

The security of the US is determined more by how well we adhere to our founding principles, than the megatonnage of our bombs. Obama will keep us more secure, by emphasizing negotiated solutions whenever possible. McCain will jump to war.

BTW: Did you hear that Obama for America has raised $10,000,000 in the 24 hours since Miss American Taliban's ugly little rant?

Oh come on, give the crazy old guy and his Beverly Hillbillies/Mayberry R.F.D. co-host a break. Do you want competence or cute?

Agreed ... thank you for spelling it out and expressing it more to the heart. We can't protect ourselves if we are not strong economically, educationally, in our basic philosophy. Look at what has happened over the last 8 years. We're selling ourselves out ala BushCo and his corporate buddies. I believe in Obama/Biden especially over McAncient/Palinothing

After tonight, it's obvious his heart isn't in it anymore and he's wondering what the HELL was he thinking? I almost feel sorry for him. ALMOST.

My dad is 71, nearly the same age as McCain, and this is what he had to say about the age factor:

"That guy wants to be president? I just want to take a nap." (He's ALL-IN with Obama, BTW !)

I think as far as "safety" goes America has real problems, youve got private citizens with enough millitary hardware and manpower to take over a small country. whats being done to protect us from them? whos to say they wont be carrying out attacks on American soil for profit and power? what is being done to protect us from these private armies sabotoging peace efforts in iraq or attacking or killing our own soldiers to widen or keep the conflict going or to change or dictate domestic leadership?

when you get into security what do we really have here? the elite are mostly exempt, how many corporate executives are on the 800,000 + watchlist? really its just an intricate system of enforcing bias and predjudice. thats what the funds are in place to do. that doesnt make us safe. talk is cheap yet acusations are priceless, that someone can make an acusation now and revoke you or me or any other American of our humanity, freedom, and dignity, without having to prove what they aledge, without having to take responsiblity if they are lying or in error, makes us quite unsafe.

so I would disagree, systems are in place but they are the kind that make this country less secure.

I just realized the attraction of their ticket to Republicans.

It's Regis and Kathie Lee.

Okay, Regis is in Depends and Kathy Lee is the cheerleader nicknamed "Barracuda", but other than that it's just the same.

Or it would be if Kathy Lee were a fanatical evangelical anti-choice sessionist and Regis salivated whenever he said "Iran."

But other than that, the same.

I always try to change my father-in-law 82, he's not your dad ... I called him a racist and he said yeah your probably right on that.

Jack Ass - but It won't stop me confronting him. He hates it. I keep it up and a lot of his mindset has changed over the last 6 years. I love him but can't stand his racism.

I'm am way way way way more terra-ized by the thought of an INSANE GEEZER and a LUNATIC CHRISTO-FASCISM EXTREMIST gaining control of "civilian" law enforcement. They make Bin Laden seem like Winnie the Pooh.
