Did you notice the 2nd, (or possibly third) song they played after McCain's speech when Caribou Barbie joined him on stage?

Barracuda, in honer of her high school nickname name Sarah Barracuda.

Baracuda might cause a problem with "Heart", but you people need
to give the GOP a break, what else could they do? No one has
written a song about a scum sucking bottom feeder yet!

There is one song I am aware of [you will have to find it on your favorite mp3 site and pay for the download] - it is by Kate Nash and the name is ..... uh ...... maybe GeorgeHead nope nope it's CheneyHead oh yeah that's how I remember it - the name of the song is DickHead.
NoYards
I'm sure they could have gotten permission to use "American Idiot".

Just listening to the news on the radio so no link at this point, but supposedly Heart has already sent them a cease and desist order to stop using the song ... it was ignored ... hopefully there will be a lawsuit.

Boston Globe: The rock group Heart has sent a message to John McCain and Sarah "Barracuda'' Palin: quit playing our 1977 hit ''Barracuda.''

So true, Chuck, no scum sucking songs that I know of as yet BUT somebody actually did write ol' Grampy a tune. I've got no clue what it sounds like. Link provided below.

I'm wondering when SRV's estate will move to order Grampy's folk to cease & disist with the use his version of "The House is a Rockin"? Don't think Stevie would have ever let them use a note.

These people really need to study these lyrics on lyricsfreak.com. before they do this.

I mean, Addicted to Love, played for Bill Clinton last week. biggrin.gif

All kind of ironic and weird - like AC/DC's Thunderstruck while Babs makes her entrance. huh.gif

Werid.
rhodie2008
Joe Biden should enter the room for his debate with Caribou Barbie to the theme music from "Jaws". The Republicans should just send Palin out soaked in meat tenderizer.
TapDuncan
Rhodie that is a great idea, Jaws, and they should play it every time he answers a question, or better yet when she does and they are going to him next...

Use of 'Barracuda' for Sarah Palin nets GOP a Heart attack

The rock duo Heart is the latest group to publicly veto a stump song, condemning the McCain-Palin ticket for using its '70s hit "Barracuda" as the theme for Gov. Sarah Palin.

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/2...in_nets_go.html

I think they should use this as their Theme song(s)..........and always show the videos........

Not likely to succeed, however, if the campaign simply pays the ASCAP fees required. Apparently the song is among those on a general release list as long as the user pays the ASCAP royalties - which do then go to the authors, whether the user is one approved by the authors/creators, or not approved.

Depends on usage. If the Grampaign wants to use it as a theme song they have to license it differently. Especially if they want to use the master. **

Random use, under 30 seconds however and their ASCAP fee covers it.

** I think one of the objections of the Wilsons is the fact that they don't want their voiced being associated with Failin'.
