Wow! What a speech McCain gave! I loved the “I’m sick and tired of those damn Republicans screwing up this country” theme. “They have done this, and they have done that and it’s been miserable for this whole country and now I’m gonna teach them a lesson ……….”

Lipstick on a pig.

Talk about a couple of whitewash jobs!

I liked best that Palin actually came out and called herself putting lipstick on a mad dog. Did she say she was another Chaney wanabe then? Sounded like it to me. “What’s the difference between a hockey mom (me) and a pit bull? Lipstick.”

So – it’s confirmed. Another liar and another mad dog (but with lipstick).

Hey, that’s what I want to vote for! Best part is – that’s what GOD wants me to vote for.

Hey – what do you get when you put lipstick on a pig and a mad dog?

Answer – a pig and a mad dog in disguise (weak disguise but that’s the best they can do). Same shit – different day.

If they would have asked me - they would have played some John Lennon at that time -- All we are saying ...... is give peace a chance And we could have all held hands and sung along.

The parts I liked best about McCain's speech, were the parts that were in Obama's speech last week!

I couldn't tell over the snoring, but did he sqawk "Enough!" too? Or was he clearing his throat?

So the game is for McCain to steal Obama's original ideas so on election day people can't tell the messege apart. Just like in 2000 when both Bus and Gore sounded the same.

I heard part of the speach (just the highlights this morning). It sounded like his main points were:

1. Republicans have really screwed this country over and he is sorry.
2. Number 1 was all the fault of the Democrats because they want to continue old Republican policies of destruction into the future.
3. Republicans are the true voice of change because they really will continue old Republican policies of destruction into the future.
4. The only way to avoid the old Republican policies of the future is to continue those policies into the future.

Did I miss something?

Here's one original idea of ours that McCain can't steal: McCain/Palin are four more years of the failed policies of George W. Bush. Except McCain/Palin would be a meth'd up version.

This has been his strategy for a while now.

He lifted the format of Barack's campaign website, and he lifted Barack's campaign slogan and turned it into, "A Leader We Can Believe In."

Chris Matthews last night made an interesting point about the speech. It was essentially an indictment of George Bush. Good thing there was lots of football for GWB to watch last night.

I'd only quibble with this one because he never ACKNOWLEDGED that it was Republicans who were in office and screwed things up. It was a more vague "them" and they."

In addition, if your "he is sorry" is intended in the form of an apology, I didn't hear any such thing. If what you mean is that he said he regrets that the unidentified "they" did all those bad things, then you've got it.

To my recollection, the only time he specifically named Republicans in relation to things done wrong, it was only in the context of "Democrats AND Republicans have..." When his criticisms of the current administration were noted, the party of the current administration never happened to come up.

No, but if the dishwasher can chew gum long enough for the cuff to get sewn into a 9/11 then my friends we can be a table of war prison.

LOL. And what happens when the lipstick wears off.

Seriously, I am heartened to hear that OBama (although Repubs got a small 'bump') has a solid four point lead (48-44) in the Gallup polls after Palin's speech. I don't thnk McCain's speech will give much more 'bump' to the Repubs. And once the Palin frenzy (and the lipstick) wears off, I think Obama's lead will increase.

The nerve of McCain to think he can get away with this BS of playing that he is now a pseudo Republican. He is no maverick - he is being coached very skillfully by Karl Rove who has planned the chess board very well.

If McCain was serious about 'change', he would never have let Sarah Palin on the ticket. I am sure the Repubs and Rove are pulling their hair out because they thought the American people would be stupid enough to fall for their sick tactics - and that McCain would be leading in the polls by now.

What I am still worried about is sending the Chaney pawn over to Georgia to create a crisis if needed. I hate to be mean (if I do it with a smile does it count?) but I wish Cheney and McCain would trip over something and get sent to their respective nursing homes: CHeney to the Home for Retired Vampires and McCain to the Home of Still Can't Figure OUt Who the Hell I Am. And I am not being ageist - I am no spring chicken.
