IIRC her words were, "...so I put it on E-Bay" then left her audience to believe the plane had been sold on the site. I guess she, or whoever wrote the lies she willingly read, considered herself to be connecting with the young generation.

At least she can use the internets, which is more than can be said about Grampy!

If she's diddling around with ebay personally at the "Governor" rate, she's cheating the people of her state.
If she delegated it, all she needs to know is who to talk to (start with her secretary) and the concept of "auction".

This means nothing.

I'll bet the next governor of Alaska buys a new jet for much more money. The state of Washington has one for the governor as it saves costs and travel time significantly.

Innuendo is all she has. I put it on e-bay is innuendo at it's worst.

New Game Idea:

How Much Would You Pay on E-Bay for Sister Sarah and what would she have to do to earn it?

I'll start... I'd bid $2.65 (the min wage when I started working) for her to scoop my kitty litter box.

My God! Is there anything this woman is honest about?!?

Wow, is there anything so small that a Republican won't lie about it?

Is her name really Sarah? Is she really the governor of Alaska? Does she even live there?

Not withstanding the fact that I'm bald, if she told me my hair was on fire and my head was in terrible pain, I'd probably consider I had brain cancer before I felt it was necessary to trust her and look in the mirror to see if were true.

The problem here is that while Palin said she 'put it on ebay, she made it sound as though she "sold" it on ebay - big difference.
Fact is, she used the plane as a campaign theme - you now, the whole, "I'm going to be fiscally conservative!" - so she made it an issue. Then, when she won, she put it on ebay (listed it 5 times) and it NEVER sold. As a matter of fact, they then went through a broker and ended up taking a $600,000 loss on the plane.
The reason we have to call her on it is becuase the media has picked up the meme of "she sold the plane on ebay. McCain is even coming out and saying she sold it on ebay...at a profit!

No, the reality of the plane that her predecessor bought is that it was to replace an aging C-12 turboprop, a plane that was 27 years old and had been refurbished several times and was a gas guzzler. The new plane, a Westwind II was about the same size, carried the same number of passengers. For example, they used the plane(s) to transport the Gov, dignitaries, etc., as well as to transport prisoners to Arizona, due to lack of prison space in Alaska. the old plane made the trip in 10 hours, with two fuels stops. The new plane made it in 6 hours with one fuel stop.

So Palin, rather than saving money, lost money.

Typical Republican. Typical liar.

There's also some question about who she sold it to ... turns out he may have been a Palin campaign donor (heard on MSNBC ... sorry no link)

Apparently, she admittedly likes killing wild animals for sport.

That appears to be true.

That's about all I can come up with.

Suffice to say Ebay is ubiquitous around the world, and the line that Palin dropped fit right into her speech, but I seriously doubt it was an unplaned off-the-cuff insert considering the following from Wiki on former (March 2008) Ebay CEO Meg Whitman:

"Whitman was mentioned as a possible Vice Presidential candidate for presumptive Republican presidential candidate John McCain until McCain picked Alaska Governor Sarah Palin."

"Whitman has made numerous political donations to various candidates and PACs. While these have gone to both Republican and Democratic beneficiaries, the donations seem to be weighted to Republican politicians such as Orrin Hatch, Charles Pickering, and George Allen. [10]

"Whitman was a supporter of former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney's presidential campaign [11][12] in 2008 and was on his "National Finance Team".[13] She was also listed as Finance co-chair of Romney's campaign exploratory committee. [14] After Romney stepped out of the race, Whitman joined John McCain's presidential campaign as a national co-chair. [15]"

"She has political ambitions of her own and is considering a run for Governor of California in the 2010 election.[16] Whitman was also named as a dark horse candidate for the Vice Presidential slot in McCain's 2008 presidential bid.[17]"

"At the Republican National Convention(2008), Whitman gave a speech about what presumptive presidential nominee McCain would do in his first one hundred days in office if elected President of the United States."

Clearly, Palin knew going in that the inuendo of her words were misleading but bowed to the speech writers, Meg Whitmans $1.4B net worth and an audience of 35 million who heard Palin deliver pitch perfect.
