As painful as it may have been, I hope you had a chance to see John McCain and Sarah Palin lie and hurl petty insults at Barack Obama this week. They made clear they'll stop at nothing to win, and that it's going to take a greater grassroots effort than we've ever seen to change this country for the better.

The job is too big for any one to tackle alone. That's why we're working together. Next week, DFA Night School teaches the tools for mobilizing your social networks into action.

Every time you bring another person into our progressive community it brings us a little bit closer to ending the occupation of Iraq, a bit closer to making health care a right for everyone. So I'm asking you to sign up today and invite a friend. We'll show you how to build a team and find a campaign where you can volunteer next weekend.

Your enthusiasm and dedication is changing America. Pass it on.

Why is it that every time someone posts a call to action, to get people off their duffs on this board, and get them to GET TO WORK actual helping Obama's campaign to win this election, instead of just writing posts on this board, no one responds. I've tried several times myself.

No response. Nothing. Zero. Zip. Nada. No one adds one post to the threads.

This is one big reason Democrats lose. Liberals are flakes, and allergic to work ... much more so than are Republicans (at least when it comes time to get out the vote).

Too bad. This liberal laziness of ours could cost us another presidential election, and democracy in America, this time.

I know what you mean shoe but I look at the 33 people who viewed it and figure maybe, just maybe they went, volunteered and forgot to post wink.gif at least that's what I hope happened.

DFA had a seminar here in Florida on campaigns. I attended it at FIU in Miami. Two days of intense campaign training. Everything from Get Out The Vote, to precinct organizing to candidate fundraising to forming a campaign message. If it comes to a town near you, I highly recommend it. It is everything you wanted to know about political campaign. More than worth the $60 I paid to go.

Their Night School classes are awesome too.

Great! I've signed up but I'm going to have to take time off from work to go so I was a little unsure. After hearing of your experience I'm anxious to go. I hope everyone who has a chance will go also, this is how you become an educated voter.

Howard Dean's brother will be on hand. He is an awesome guy. The manual they give you for the class is just full of great information. You will not be disappointed. They have some very experienced campaign people do the training.

I don't know if they will have Apa, a fabulous lady who does the campaign finance training but if you do get her, she will blow you away. She is the finance person who is currently on Annette Taddeo's campaign. Taddeo is running against that pig, Ileana Ros-Lehtinen in Miami. Apa is hilarious and she taught me a bunch.

Helen Stain is also good. She teaches "ground game", voter contact and the like. She has been on dozens of campaigns and is former vice-chair of the FL Democratic Party.

They are going over some good stuff right now on this practice run. I forgot to tell you that you can go in and download this anytime you don't have to do it live.
