That ought to be good for the Democrats. Anyone who watches McCain for any length of time, should tend to vote against him.

The Nielsen story has all the trappings of corporate media nuance. The subliminal message here is that "surprise, surprise, McCain beat Obama." There's no way to question this outcome without it sounding either like conspiracy theory and/or sour grapes.

So, so be it. More murkins watched McCain than watched Obama.

Pretty soon, people migt even forget that the Obama speech was seen IN PERSON by more than 80,000 people compared to 20,000 for McCain, if that.

Also, I still say the most effective thing for progressives to do is to hupe the protesters. We still don't know the names of those who disrupted McCain's speech and who unfurled that highly effective sign saying "you can't win an occupation". The responsibility for making that information public is on us. That is what we should be posting, and to hell with MSM and the stuff they want us to focus on and carp about.

I do wish we'd focus on taking care of our own. The protesters spoke for us. Why can't we speak for them?

McCain is stealing Obama's ideas now. Or at least trying to look like he is... lol So there's no way he can be better.

It's a sin and it makes me sick.

And this amounts to exactly what?
McCain beats Obama amongst Repigs? Do tell.

Wait a minute. There's a fallacy here. The Obama speech was not carried on all the networks like the McCain speech was.

I am now quite certain that we are seeing MSM manipulation here, folks. It's not conspiracy theory or sour grapes afterall. Something was, indeed, wrong with the picture that MSM and Nielsen were trying to hype.

Nonetheless, this issue is a surefire reminder that election theft is in the works unless we take action to prevent it.

Take heed

The real way to look at this is that the Republicans have always built their election strategy around depressing the vote ... the more people are interested in the campaign and election the better for the democrats ... doesn't matter that the RNC had more viewers, that simply means that as the campaign moves along more people are paying attention, and that can only be bad for the Repugs.

Look, they took every opportunity during the RNC to shorten their convention and cut out keynote speakers. Sure some of them on their own are "negatives" (Bush & Cheny for example) but all opportunities were taken to keep people disinterested; that is the Repugs game plan, always been that way.

The higher the viewer ship, all the better.

I never looked into it but it did seem like it was on countless channels

Maybe there were more viewers for the Repubs than the Dems because the Dems realize they should know their enemies and watch both conventions. I bet there were not many Repubs who watched the Democratic Convention.

Once again, VIEWERSHIP does not equate to SUPPORT. Fact is, more people, every day seem to be getting interested in this election...and that's a good thing. Shoot, I watched the horrible carnival called the RNC too. Laughed at the VP nominee's acceptance speech...Mary Hartman thanking folks for being made PTA President. ...and McCain's speech...better than Sominex™!

the rest were sleeping through it

Everything the Democrats are doing for change, the Republicans are copying. Frankly, The Republican party is a CULT. The RNC is really REPUBLICAN NATIONAL CULT. No way those Stepford people gleaned more viewers than Obama. I do think the so-called 'liberal' media does favor McCain and will doctor the facts to make it appear more than it is. Remember the 'liberal' media, are large corporate conglomerates that back Republicans for the most part. However, the other answer is that people did want to hear what McCain had to say and any 'thinking' American will recognize the empty rhetoric and crock that he represents. BTW, if you look at the pictures of the RNCult you will see a lot of empty seats. The Dem convention was filled up all the way.

Regardless, the numbers for Obama are holding at least in the polls. A little drop for Obama, and gain for McSame, but still enough to be optimistic. After the Palin speech, if there was going to be a 'bounce' for McCain, that's when it would have come.

When McSame/Stalin say change is coming, they are right. President Obama will be a most welcome change. Obama supporters must hang in there and not let Republican lies, hypocracy and dirty tricks discourage them from going to the polls. We have the numbers now let's get out there and make them count.

Not surprising McCain has hijacked the word "change." For one, he's a republicken. They lie, they cheat, they steal. That being said, he has to differentiate himself from Bush. That's why the word maverick is so hackneyed. He has to throw sand in the air all around the fact that he espouses everthing Bush has done during his term. He almost has no choice, really. The fact that McCain has to try to swipe "change" from Obama means that Barack has set the theme, and all McCain can do is play a game of catch up and mimicry. Pathetic.

Are you somehow implying that disrupting a major event attended by 20,000 is acceptable behavior by a small group of individuals? How kindly would you have looked upon someone who disrupted Obama's speech at Invesco field?

How would you react if you were in a movie theater watching the latest Michael more movie and unruly folks disagreeing with the content wouldn't allow you to watch it?

Where do you draw the line? Should a small group of individuals be allowed to disrupt a concert you are attending? What about a football game?

That anyone would condone this kind of immature behavior speaks volumes.
