Full Version: BRAINWASHED: The Issues

You know, to me it seems to be really funny how we don't even want to discuss issues anymore. It is really pretty sad that we have been tricked by the media to abandon our own cause..... Have you all forgotten HEALTH CARE, JOBS, THE WAR, SOCIAL SECURITY, IMPEACHMENT, PRIVACY ACT, ROVE, CHENNEY, SCOOTER, The Project for a New American Century? We have been bombarded with media blitz and we have all been distracted. We have allowed 1st John Edwards scandal to hold water then to go on to DEMOLISH all of the great work that Future President Obama has done to actually CHANGE the way politics is done. The complete interest in politics grew from OUR party. Why are you allowing them to steal that? You have been brainwashed into only talking about Palin/McCant....? I haven't even heard discussion about what Obama is going to do in the last week. It is Monday - Change the conversation and don't allow the Students of ROVE to change the topic. Don't allow Republicants to take this election from us by use of the media again. Copy this and give this to everyone you know. Do get brainwashed again. They can only win if WE THE PEOPLE allow it. The media only goes after ratings. If WE not Obama, WE change the focus and stop watching the BS they put on for you to squawk at. BOYCOTT FOX NEWS. BOYCOTT REPUBLICANTS talking on TV. We don't need to know what they are talking about. That is why they are on the air YOU - not Republican'ts YOU watch them. The get ratings and stay on the air. YOU listen to their radio shows. You would do better to watch Sponge Bob Square Pants Marathons. What in God's Name is wrong with you. Are you crazy.... They are entertainment, but you, being the smarter and brighter much more intellectual - You should really do better DEMS!

Ok, the bold faced type is a little much, but I get your point. We need to wake up to the sophomoric politics of the rw. Yes, we need to get aggressive, and that is key to success. We need to understand that decency and low gutter are a world apart. They are dreams, being dreamed by uneducated voters who are more afraid of foreign interests than internal dominunists. We are done, gone, long live the memory of the USA. RIP.

Yes and it seem as though people don't understand that this is life or death. Republican'ts are fighting for their wallets and we should be fighting for our lives. Bold face gets your attention! I will try not using it as much.

....BE THE CHANGE THAT YOU WANT TO SEE - M.K. Ganhdi. Doesn't that resignate with anyone?

For the most part, around here, you are preaching to the choir. The folks who are regulars on this board more than understand the issues.

oh we are pretty well versed on the issues as are Obama and Biden...the problem is, to those we need to sway, the issues might be guns, gays and god...more so than anything that is actually important...

the McCain camp hasnt, that I have seen, spoken a word about the issues, other than a little rhetoric here and there in general terms, hell, look at the speeches at the convention, all they did was make fun of community organizers.not a fucking word about what they will do, in a substantive way

and millions are ok with that, no job? ok with me just as long as the gay couple down the street cant get married...i know, insane, but true

I agree with you there. I'm a Florida resident. I grew up in Randi's back yard, West Palm Beach area, which is primarily a democrat area of Florida. At least it was when I still lived there. I then spent some time in the Panhandle, which is mainly Republican and is an area of the world where it seems only Baptists or Methodists are accepted people. Now I'm in Tampa where the field is kind of mixed. What I've learned is that many die hard Christians seem to equate Christianity with Republicans. And many that I've come into contact with are not able to separate the two. They refuse to believe that the Republican Party is so far from Christian values that most of the rest of us can't understand why they believe in that party. And their biggest issues are guns, gays and god - and abortion.

It's interesting that two of those things, gays and abortion, directly affect the fewest percentages of Americans. I mean, what percentage of the US population is gay or having an abortion? 1%? 2% maybe? Yet every year, they are made out to be THE issues in elections. My theory is they are meant to gloss over what the Republlicans' real agenda is and that's to re-create the Middle Ages. But instead of Kings and Lords, you'll have CEO's and instead of serfs you'll have cubicle slaves. I don't even want to imagine what life will be like if we have to suffer four to eight years under McCain. It's frankly frightening.

Oh so true.........and there are some really big things happening but I guess if it dosen't immediately affect any one particular person at the time they don't see the future ramifications........

Sadly this class warfare has been occurring for 30 years.
I don't know why people are just waking up to it now. That's why we fought hard to get Al Gore into the White House in 2000, to prevent the wage slavery that has gone unabated for the last eight years.
Whats worse is now they have new legions that believe that this is normal economic activity.
