Listen, I'm not saying that women can't multi-task and speak out. I'm a woman so of course I don't believe that. I just hate the fact that you have these women on TV trying to divide things up. And that is true. Look at McCain's camp of women saying Barack is being sexist over that whole lipstick thing. So women at home don't know no better. They hear them saying this and they take that thought to the ballot. Look at the PUMA women on TV telling women not to vote democratic. This was my point. And someone on here also said men are still in charge. Well I know that. DUH. I'm just upset that women still fall into this trap. And don't tell me these PUMA women aren't being emotional because they are.
As for Chris Matthews, I didn't mean he was talking over her. That was the wrong phrase I used. She was talking. And stopped. He started then she cut him off. He was not being rude about it at all. But he seemed as though he was just like I better let these women just get their way or they will call me sexist again. He difinitely treat the women more gentle than he treats the men when he interviews now.
But this is my point. And no, I am not joking.
So, what's yer beef with women in the media? How negatively they are being portrayed? That has more to do with the media moguls (who tend to be white males with too much money and not enough time to spend it) and their inherent, latent or otherwise disguised misogynistic tendencies.
You should not rail so against the divine feminine, but take a moment to figure out why the media is behaving in such a fashion towards those of the female sex. Also, take some pride in being a woman. Don't try to hide behind the word 'them' when referring to women -- you come across as a bit, um, self-loathing.
As CodePink is apt to say, pink is a powerful color . . . but, it has gotten a bum rap of late. Especially when it comes to this rather hierarchical, rigid patriarchy that most WASPMs tend to identify as being the dominant American culture. Since women are playing a bigger role in politics, of course there are going to be some men out there who feel displaced. But, don't you jump on their bandwagon and besmirch all of the female sex simply because of how women are being portrayed in the media.
There will always be insecure men -- even in matrilineal societies. There will always be insecure women, as well. The trick is to turn that insecurity into a strength -- don't allow the insecurity to block your ability to learn, to grow and to overcome this insecurity.
