KY Republicans want to send lipstick to Obama

LOUISVILLE, KY. --Some Kentucky Republicans think Democrat Barack Obama smeared GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin by using the phrase "lipstick on a pig" at a campaign stop.
Now those Republicans want to send 1,000 tubes of lipstick to Obama's campaign headquarters to get back at the Democratic presidential hopeful. The effort is being coordinated by the Jefferson County GOP.
The county's Republican chairman, Brad Cummings, said Wednesday it's Obama who has said that words do matter. Cummings says he considered Obama's comment a direct slap at Palin.
Cummings says Republicans across Kentucky are being contacted to join in sending the pile of lipstick tubes to Obama headquarters.
Obama made the remark Tuesday when talking about Republican presidential rival John McCain and President Bush - not Palin. And McCain himself has used the same metaphor in the past.
