Why does anyone actually think that?
Because the media told you he's losing in the polls?
Polls which were methodologically flawed because they oversampled Republicans?
The vast majority of America is with Barack.
I hope you're right, but last week, I bought a book titled Just How Stupid Are We?: Facing the Truth About the American Voter by Rick Shenkman
I haven't finished it but the case he makes is very sad. No one reads a newspaper anymore, twice as many people can name all 5 Simpsons than can name 2 rights in the Bill Of Rights and on and on and on.
Need I say more? OK, I will.
People are obsessed with celebrity and reality TV (there's nothing real about it) yet have no interest in the politics which affects them.
The current administration is taking away civil rights that have existed for well over 200 years, yet half the country doesn't care.
The price of gas, food, heating oil and most everything that gets delivered with gas has gone through the roof, and yet half the country doesn't care.
McCain has lied, lied, lied, yet half the country believes him.
People voted GW into office in 2000 (maybe they didn't but he got in anyway), and the voted for him AGAIN in 2004.
I could go on but I'm preaching to the choir.
What case can you make that the majority of Americans are smarter than this? I'm not trying to be a jerk, I just love facts, and I wish I there were some that could refute these.
Compare our collective political intelligence to a lot of European countries and and makes me want to become an Ex-Pat. And half of Americans hate Europeans. Look at the reaction to Obama's visit to Berlin. They see his greatness and yet half of America is pissed about it.
