"The most substantial revision to FBI operating instructions in years....."

"It would allow, for example, agents to interview people in the United States about foreign intelligence cases without warrants or prior approval of their supervisors. It also would rewrite 1976 guidelines established after Nixon-era abuses that restrict the FBI's authority to intervene in times of civil disorder and to infiltrate opposition groups."

"The rule revisions require the approval of Attorney General Michael Mukasey, who has signaled that they will take effect Oct. 1. FBI agents already are being trained on the changes...."

"It is an extraordinarily broad grant of power to an agency that has not proven it uses its power in an appropriate manner," said Michael German, policy counsel at the American Civil Liberties Union.

People who vote repug really need to find a copy of the Constitution and read it. They are not for the American traditional values. They are either selfish or sheeple.

What scares me is if/when McCain wins and Palin has to take over as president what will happen to our rights. Here's a lifetime NRA member who has no experience or capacity to use diplomacy, and an insane fundamentalist who hates anyone that doesn't fit into her narrow view of the perfect little submissive American. Put her as commander and chief with McCain's warmongering cabinet and you have instant police state. The RNC protests, the Patriotic Act, and this are all just samples of what these nut jobs really want to do. And here I thought 1984 and V for Vendetta were fiction....

I was actually thinking more of Children of Men than V for Vendetta. V for Vendetta is too optimistic.

*scratches her head* and Hannity and Mark Levin told me that being a conservative meant conserving our individual rights... Ah shucks, I think they were lying. I better go tell Al Frankin.

Are you in an anti-war or environmental organization? A left-learning political group? Does your organization need money?

Try our new "Sell a Snitch" program. Now, you've probably got a snitch or government agent in your organization already, but you can still make money with "Sell a Snitch."

Here's how it works:

1) Select a designated snitch from among your ranks - as a matter of fact, if you know of a current snitch, select them.

2) Have them contact an appropriate agency (local police, FBI, military police, Homeland Security, etc.). They should offer to spy on your group for cash.

Now, if the agency refuses, it is proof that you already have an informant.

2 a) Have a meeting about the necessity of exposing the traitor. Ask everyone for verifiable personal details (sources of income, place of employment, residence address, personal references).

This activity should make the agency (or agencies) who have already infiltrated your group anxious to protect their agent(s), so they'll contact your selected snitch and offer to pay them, simply to protect their person. They may even 'expose' your selected snitch to draw attention away from their own.

3) Collect funds. Have your 'selected snitch' put his/her ill-gotten gains into the group treasury.

Yes it's "Sell A Snitch" The new way to get government help for your fund raising.

They're taking your rights. You take their cash.

Was just thinking about this.

Sarah Palin is a prop, being used solely to get conservatives to the polls. If they win, she will not be another Condi, she will most likely be hidden away. Conservatives love incompetence, but they also love power. She's got too much baggage, even for the inept neoconservatives.

Ok but tell me this, if McCain dies and Palin takes over as president then what?

I don't care what they say about McCain being healthy, he's old as dirt.

Then, we will do what liberals have always done in the face of the extremism that has ALWAYS defined American politcs, we deal. That's what.

We did not get to where we are by cowering away from the rightwing and wringing our hands about what they might or might not do.

People need to study up on our history to see what we have done to smack back the fascists...we have an entire tradition dating back to the founding of this country. We need to use it.

I was going to say,

How do you spot the FBI informant?

He's the one consistently pushing violent action.

On the other hand, this IS quite a good idea. It can even be expanded on. With the plethora of governmental and corporate intelligence agencies out there, one could conceivably try the same process with each organization, increase your overall membership and funding and play them off each other. Tell the FBI informant that you believe the NSA informant is working with the DHS informant on a terrorist plot or creating a violent splinter group(always sets off the red flags, that phrase) and vice-versa. Since they all try to promote violence, you could have them arresting each other and collect rewards from both sides. While all this is going on, you would become a trusted asset of both groups and be able to infiltrate THEIR organizations with YOUR handpicked informants.

How do you think al-Qaeda infiltrated the ISI?
