Full Version: What does a "maverick" do?

So far, all I've seen McPalin do is plagiarize the working portions of the Obama campaign. Did you see that sign that said "Change you can Trust" at RNC? Sort of stole "Change you can believe in" didn't they? And now, pretending to be agents of change. Ok. Let's pretend it's true for a minute. Then here are some serious questions:

1) What does a "maverick" do in office? Do you really want a president and vice president with erratic, unpredictible behavior running the country?

2) Isn't compulsive behavior, such as a "maverick" would exhibit, part of a psychiatric assessment in DSMIV? Has either one of them had a psych evaluation? What was the result?

3) If McPalin are "against" the government as it stands, then why are the Republicans supporting them? Seems to me the Republicans would oust them. Doesn't this fact alone belie that they want to "change" things?

4) Specifically which things would they seek to change? Specifically how would they change them? And how would those changes benefit the United States people at large?

5) Could they start the big "maverick" change in the government by trying to be honest themselves, and with themselves? And if they think they are being honest, how about getting a second opinion?

Isn't a "maverick" an unbranded calf?

Who wants to go around being known as an unbranded calf?

In the military, it is a man that starts out a private, and works his way all the way up to the commander of the Armys, Fleet, Squadron, you name it. It is a person who made it the hard way, and made it to the top by his own merits. They are at times abrasive to people who would be considered sycophants. They are natural born leaders. A maverick would do what is necessary to get the job done.

No Carmen, it's a car from the 70's

Here's another old white Maverick! rofl.gif

Orange was a popular color for those things. I think they were a ford, with a 302. Had a buddy that loved his, he finally killed it.

I think both McCain's and Palin's def. of maverick boils down to doing whatever their gut tells them to do... no thinking allowed.

I had a 71 with a 302. A couple weeks ago I had a dream I found another one in a wrecking yard. ohmy.gif

We had a 1970 Maverick. "70s Green." It was a decent enough car (for a Ford), but it didn't have power steering. You really had to muscle that baby around a corner.

By that example, so is Joe Lieberman.

Unlike McCain, he didn't flip-flop back just for the public approval of his constituents. He's standing firm on his sinking ship.

That's right, I'm saying Lieberman's more of a Maverick than McCain. I actually have more respect for Lieberman than McCain because he only flipped instead of flipped and then flopped.

The old Maverick I rode around in during the 70's would make a better President than McSame.

Yet this maverick was obviously caught and branded.
