Full Version: How Liberals love America

First off has anyone read Al Frankin's 2003 book Lies and the Lying Liers who tell them ?

Whether you love or Hate Al Frankin, and with me I'm a little iffy because of some of the shit he provoked, but there was a really great line in this book that really explains how Liberals and conservatives differ when it comes to loving America.

"We love America just as much as they do. But in a different way. You see, they love America the way a four year old loves her mommy. Liberals love America like grown-ups. To a four year old, everything mommy does is wonderful and anyone who criticizes Mommy is bad. Grown-up love means actually understanding what you love, taking the good with the bad, and helping your loved one grow"

I don't care what anyone says about Al Frankin, he is dead on with so many things.

Once I had some houseguests in the form of my friend, his woman and her two daughters. I mentioned that their mother loaded the dishwasher wrong and the young girls were mad at me all day.
It was very odd. I wasn't even mad about it.

I'm reading that book again... When I read it the first time, I didn't know who Hannity, Anne Coulter or Bill O' The Clown were... So it means more this time around.

Imagine, I actually didn't know who they were... I wish I still didn't... Then again, I'm more informed.

Same here. It's like flipping over a rock and finding. . . just all manner of vermin and insects underneath.

We ate from Al Franken's tree of knowledge and our lives will never be the same.

I think Al did a fairly good job of separating patriotism from jingoism.

I hope he wins; it's time that seat had back somebody who honors the legacy of Paul Wellstone instead of trashing it, like Norm Coleman has.

I've read all of his books, including Lies and the Lying Liers who tell them.

I love Franken's humor, but hate his politics. I found his books to be entertaining because of the humor he interjects into his arguments.

Negative, the only other book I own is Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot. I think Frankin is much funnier as a writer. Though I did like Stuart Smally from back in the day.

Tell me, do you think it was gutsy or just plain stupid when he egged on six foot four Bill O' The Clown?

Do you think we can expect him to keep writing when or if he becomes a Senator.

I was like "wow" when I saw the famous video on YouTube... Bill O' yells "shut up, you had your thirty five minutes, shut up... Ladies and gentlemen he writes a book calling me a lier because I mispoke and called a Polk a Peabody"

I have to say, I love that pig in the picture... See pigs are much more attractive than Sarah Palin.

Thank you, that was our foster pig, Wilber, who is in a permanent home now. I and the rabbit in my avatar completely adored him. I know, he's so pretty and charming, comparing anyone to Wilber - well let's just say they better be an awesome person!

Wilber, I love it... Just like in Charlotte's Web. My step father always loved pigs... We just have cats in our 2 bedroom Baltimore apartment.

I love that quote of his, even though he doesn't agree with my "Broken Condom" theory of going into Iraq. (In a nutshell, we went in strong and fast, the protection being we knew there were WMD's and our actions would make a better place. Of course, the truth came out, the condom broke, and rather than us pull out we just kept on going and we're going to have a country and government to raise that we hope likes us in 15 years.)

I can't wait for Al to debate the man-whore Coleman, he is so escared pa, he is shaking in his boots, he avoided the debate at the state fair, and will try to avoid all others, hey Norm, you suck, this time the jizz is in your mouth, BTW, nice Mullett loser.

We live in Northeast Baltimore across from Good Sam hospital off of Loch Raven. The apartments are real old brick buildings. Sooo why did you leave Baltimore? I was gone for 10 years, but not by choice.

Oh - one of my best friends lived in Parkville, and one of my brothers lives there now!!! I really like it, especially some of the wacked-out german gardens with their lawn animals! laugh.gif Oh, well I left mostly to go to a school in New Jersey, then when I graduated we moved down here to South Florida.

Danisnape, in what way does Al not agree with your broken condom? ohmy.gif

Ack I had a bad experience in Parkville today. A bad sushi bar and then a nasty movie theater... I couldn't do it. the seats were too nasty. I let them keep the six bucks... I walked.
Gwynogsrabbit
Oh, those Parkville kids go to the movies for only one reason biggrin.gif

Yeah and it was so nasty... Between finding white shit on one of the seats and the only woman in there talking about popping big ass zits, we had to flee.

Both are totally adorable. Wilber is smiling! So cute.
