Full Version: OBAMA should seize LEADERSHIP mantel as a result of ECONOMIC TURMOIL

Obama's leadership qualities, including his ability to inspire people, might be needed at present. It appears the ECONOMIC COLLAPSE cannot be postponed until after the election. Thus far, Obama has been reluctant to seize upon the grave financial peril the US is in. I assume this is because as a mere candidate, there are limits to what he can say, let alone do.

However, one thing he can do is indicate the failings of the Bush administration and the lack of anything in either the R party platform or in McCain's campaign rhetoric that can remotely address the economic peril we are facing. He can also indicate that if elected he will immediately address the financial and economic situation he is presented with following 8 years of R blundering.

I think the current unprecedented economic news presents an opportunity for leadership. Note: I did not say an opportunity for political oneupsmanship. The situation is too dangerous for that. We need a leader.

The economic disasters will utlimately benefit us eventually...

Either they will convince the people that 4 more yrs of it is insane...

Or they will stupidly elect McCain and then the disaster that is surely to follow will allow for a new start...

I agree ... Say to yourself and everyone else ... "I remember the Savings & Loan Crisis in the 80's, McAncient part of the Keating 5, who was involved in the biggest S & L going down w/billions of costs going to tax payers to bail them out and a Neil Bush involved too. Hmmm ... look who is t the helm of our country a Bush and a wanta be McAncient"

History Repeating Itself ... Actually this would be a great ad for Obama.

Take The Opportunity Barak and run with: "VP Bush 43, Keating 5, Neil Bush and the Savings & Loan Bailouts ... More of The Same ... Different Decade"

The Country Needs a History Lesson NOW !!!

Never under estimate the stupidity of the American people. And zeroing in on that chronic stupidity is something the Republicans know how to do better than the Democrats.

It's not so much that Americans are STUPID. It's that Republicans push voters into their reptilian brains, get them into fight/flight - fear/hate mode, then get them to vote. Democrats try to lift people into their cortex, a much harder task. Until enough people realize that they are being played, then fucked over, they'll continue to fall for it.

That's exactly why we have to remind them of the history until they get it through their reptilian brains.

TV and Radio Commercial ...

THE 1980's - VP Bush 41 - In when Reagan was around and the S & L Crisis and Bush 41's son Neil was involved.
McAncient and the Keating 5

... Switch to Current Day ...

LAST 7+ YEARS - Bush 43 - Enron, Indybank, Freddie, Fannie, Lehman Brothers, Washington Mutual, Merril Lynch.
De-Regulation - Under BushCo

Now McAncient wants to lead us out? Would McAncient's wife secure these banks with their Millions?

They will with ours as Tax Payers and they will tax us to bail them out.

McAncient - Different Decades - Same BAD Results.

ABSOLUTELY.

Obama MUST jump on this opportunity to cut through the crap and remind that nation that we're in very deep doodoo economically right now, and the reason is ... Republican misleadership that MCCAIN WILL CONTINUE IN SPADES!!!

Sorry to be so crass ... but Obama needs to take advantage of these recent intrusions of the sad economic reality that America is in fact surrounded by and RUN with it!!

It IS the fault of Republican misleadership, McCain IS more of what got us into this terrible mess, and Obama DOES stand for actual change ... not the McCain double-speak b.s. lie to your face "change" that actually means no change at all.
