If both candidates get 269 electoral votes...

... the election goes to the House of Representatives and the House will elect the new president.

... BTW, though, the candidates do have the chance to lure away a "faithless elector" from some state before this happens to break the tie.

The last time there was a tie (73-73) was 1824.

The EC needs to be dismantled, now, yesterday, last year. Count the votes and be done with it.

Removing parts of our Constitution is not the answer, this is why we are in this mess. Restore the Constitution and pride in American made goods. People found to be in collusion of foreign interests should be locked up for life. The rule of law was stopped in the 21st century. Amerika in the 21st century ala Presidential Order.

I don't know, but if Scalia somehow squirrels his way into it again and writes one-stop shopping law again and shames the Supreme Court, and then says, GET OVER IT . . . well, it just can't happen. Never again. This is not going to be close.

Where's Martsmart? I do believe we have a revolution on our hands. The people in massive numbers are voting on Nov. 4, 2008 - enough is enough. Obama has crowds, McCain goes begging.

Did anybody see "Nino" Scalia interviewed on 60 Minutes?

Without apology, he defended Bush v. Gore, he said torture wasn't punishment, and disparaged most of his liberal colleagues on the court.

tried to watch it, blood pressure got too high

I'm sorry, but NO REVOLUTIONS! Secession and permanent division is the way to go. IMO, revolution is maintaining the status quo of an oppressive central government. We're all effin' tired of empires. Let's make the American Empire the last one.

Actually, in case of a "dispute," many of the State Legislatures may award their Electoral College election.

Though I don't think the race is as close as some of the polls are suggesting, wouldn't it be funny if Guam and/or Pureto Rico were the deciding votes.

I'm not sure about revolt specifically but he did say something along the lines of, the tree of liberty having to be replenished periodically with the blood of tyrants and patriots.

It would certainly show that our constitution had finally been tossed away for good...Guam and Puerto Rico don't have any electoral votes to cast.

Yes, he claimed that torture was not "cruel and unusual punishment" because the interrogators were not administering "punishment". Supposedly in his mind "cruel and unusual punishment" only applies to a sentence, and not to the interrogation phase ... so, in his weak mind, he forgot to consider the full implication of his stance, and never considered that this means that the cops can pick you up and interrogate you with hot irons and water boarding since they are only "interrogating you" and not "punishing you". ... That's one sick m-f-er you have there.
