This is kinda amusing in a twisted cynical way. Bushco and the fed were trying to prop up the financial markets by floating cheap loans to the financial pigs and frauds and running the printing presses at top speed to pawn the collapse and blame on the next administration. Well guess what? It did not work because their chernobyl of a ponzi scheme was so bloated and pumped up with fraud that it has reach critical mass and is exploding at the end of Bushco's term.

Yall republican unregulated free market hogs want some gravy with that?

Quite fitting if you ask me.

If that were the case, wouldn't the Feds have offered Federal fund guarantees to private institutions to buy Lehman Brothers?

They are tapped out and people are wising up to the old taxpayer funded bailout routine. The international markets know we are a nation that doesn't have two pennies to rub together.

BTW, what happened to the old M3 index? You know, the inflation indicator based on how much US currency is floating in the world financial markets. Oh yeah they stopped publishing that indicator of inflation back in 2006 I believe.

Yep. When they stopped reporting the M3 figures, I knew the wheels were coming off of everything but the printing presses. I really think that they figured they could keep the lid on until they left town....

You know when I found out the M3 index was not being published anymore, that threw up a giant red flag. I said to myself Bushco has basically tied a blind fold around economists around the world with regards to inflation and determining the actual value of the dollar. I was pisse because in the economic classes I took in college this was taught to be a very importnat indicator. Yet we heard nothing about it in the business arenas.

BTW, we will probably never know how much money the federal reserve has been printing and is in circulation. IMO, that was Bushcos plan all along.

Remember the 9 billion missing in Iraq and the pallet loads of crisp $100.00 being flown to Iraq in the early stages of the Iraq War. And they did not even have ledger paper, pencils or file cabinets to account for any of it.

I'm sure the GOP will try to blame the Dem Congress for this. Alas it is a small miracle the economic meltdown has begun right before the election rather than after. Sadly I'm sure the worst of it will be hitting the fan in the next administration. Plenty of time for Republican alzheimers to kick in and start blaming Obama.

Well that's true enough. He wanted this to drop onto the next administration, hopefully Democratic, so he could walk away and spout some bullshit about how the economy was fine until the Democrats got ahold of it. Now this is on his watch, and McCain is having to pretend that it's not a republican problem and everything is just peachy.

Americans are stupid.

They have known since 1929- almost 80 fucking years- that Republicans destroy economies, yet they still keep voting for them. It's absolutely incredible how stupid Americans are.

I used to say that it would take freezing and starving to finally make people realize that they should never, ever vote for a Republican, but now I think it will actually take freezing and starving to DEATH before people actually get that they should never, ever vote for a Republican.

Here we are, going into yet another depression and IDIOTS are still voting for Republicans. You know, at this point, I'm tempted to actually hope all the morons who voted Republican actually freeze and starve to death this winter. I don't know how else they will ever learn.

Oh but John McCain is the reformer... He's a maverick... He has a woman running with him. Look I'm only going to be satisfied when our boy is ahead in the polls again.

After the US starts to break up in 2010 (and everyone's out the door), I hope the McCain/US folks realize they will be stuck with the deficit check tongue.gif
