Reuter's Poll

OBAMA/BIDEN BACK UP in the polls. The infatuation with Palin Caribou Barbie Palin seems to be waining.

'...Palin also helped solidify Democratic support for Obama. "For the last few weeks it's been all about Palin and she has been a divisive force," he said. "She has shored up the base for both candidates." '

Gee, I guess they better reconsider her, huh? There's still time to dump Palin!

DO VOTE ... yes!!!

But this time, I suggest voting is not NEARLY enough.

With the built-in vote rigging advantage that McCain certainly has (if the past several elections are any indication), Obama will need to be ahead by 5-6 points (a guess) just to break even on election day.

That means voting is NOT enough. We libs need to give of our time and energy, and become "boots on the ground" for the Obama campaign.

The number below is where any of us who really care enough to to more than the bare minimum (i.e. voting) can go to find out how we can give the gift of our time, energy, and talent DIRECTLY to helping Obama win in November.

Letting "someone else do it" is how rabidly committed conservatives always end up beating us with their ground game on election day. This time, we've got to OVERWHELM THEM with twice as many volunteers as they've got (which will be hard, now that Palin has energized their formerly disinterested evangelical and neoconservative base).

And ... it can actually be fun!

Making calls to swing voters in key states, canvassing neighborhoods, fundraising, registering voters, getting out the vote in the critical days right before the election, etc. There's a LOT of work to do.

And those of us who truly care have got to do it ... because no one else will.

This I would wholeheartedly agree with. thumbsup.gif
