Sarah Palin to speak to CBS News' Katie Couric

Second in the broadcast network competition to talk to Sarah Palin: Katie Couric.

The CBS anchor will spend two days on the road with the Republican vice presidential candidate as well as presidential hopeful John McCain, the network said Tuesday.

Couric's interview material will be aired Sept. 29 and 30 on the "CBS Evening News" and "The Early Show."

It's timed for just before the Oct. 2 vice presidential debate between Palin and Democrat Joe Biden.

ABC's Charles Gibson had the first in-depth network interview with Palin last week. She's also talking to Fox News Channel's Sean Hannity this week.

There's no word on whether Couric's interview material will appear on "60 Minutes," which competed hard to get the first Palin interview.

This could actually be a big mistake for the McCain folk. Couric has SUCH a credibility and perception problem, she could well try to clean them up with this one interview. Moreover, she has all the follow-ups from Gibson to pursue.

this pisses me off...she's hiding while she studies up. 2 weeks from now???? that's unfreakin real.

thank god that even the right wingers are now recognizing that she is NOT qualified.

and we're only getting one VP debate? this is like the republican dream come true.

Boy, to go with a recipe exchange, or just an exchange of, "It's so tough to get men to take us seriously," would utterly destroy Couric. To spend a lot of time on how Palin FEELS and so forth would do the same. Couric has far more incentive to bust some nuts.

Couric will delete any mistakes Palin makes. I'm not going to watch this bogus interview, either.

I just watched a clip of Palin in a Hannity interview.

Guess what??!!

Her hair is DOWN over her ears.

Even so, you can see that SOMETHING is in her right ear.

It's pretty durn obvious!

Andrea Mitchell cut to the clip when she was discussing comments Palin is making on the "economy"
